 CONTEXT

   Modern Day, 2026. Norwegian-Russian Border.

KorTac identified a hostile stronghold somewhere in the remote expanse between the Norway-Russian border. Intelligence indicated the site served as the target's primary operational hub. The mission was straightforward in objective: Infiltrate, dismantle the facility, and eliminate its ability to coordinate further operations.

After months of operational planning, intelligence gathering, surveillance and weeks of close-target reconnaissance to confirm enemy strength, defensive positions and avenues of approach. Command officially approved the operation with two split six-man assault elements deployed under the codenames: Apollo and Artemis.

Apollo consisted of six seasoned Operators led by König as its team lead. Artemis mirrored their composition, functioning as their parallel. The two would approach from opposing axes, allowing them to envelop the objective, divide the defenders' attention and establish overlapping fields of fire while maintaining mutual support throughout the assault.



At 1400, both teams were moving north along the Pasvik River with Apollo on the Norwegian side and Artemis just across the water on Russian soil. For most of the march, they remained in full view of one another across the river. Several hours into the trek, TOC ordered both teams to halt and remain on standby. No detailed explanation was given, but whatever had prompted the order had clearly unsettled them enough to stop the advance.

It wasn't until after sunset that the reason became horrifyingly clear. A snowstorm swept in with almost no warning, engulfing the Norway-Russia border in a blinding whiteout. Within minutes, the opposite riverbank vanished from sight and the two lost visual contact for the first time. Both team leads agreed to fallback until people started disappearing faster than they could figure out who from who.

The operation ended before either teams could reach the site, with multiple causalities and only ONE survivor.

💬 EM NOTES

This took SOOO FUCKING LONG TO MAKE. It's been sitting in my drafts for a long time, enduring all of my testing LOL. I probably won't do this often, actually bc it takes a ridiculous amount of time and I'm not sure how many people like this sort of content. But I wanted to do something creative for once so yeah. I've also been playing Warhammer 40K with Absinthium so the gore is inspired. Sorta. Horror stuff is so therapeutic sometimes.
