There, he said it. College sucked, and he wished he could just drop out and never come back, but he needed a degree if we wanted to one day settle down and live a peaceful life with his future partner. Besides, two years done with two left to get his Bachelors wasn’t too bad. It still wasn’t good, but his electives made up for it.

The front entrance of the College of Phoenix County, the local community college, was flooded with buses while students rushed to their classrooms. Blaze wasn’t in a hurry, he had enough time to stop by Café Late and get a quick bite to eat, maybe a nice vanilla bean frap from the integrated Starebucks.

He moved through campus, trying not to bump into anyone, and standing in line at the café. His tail and ears drooped against his head as he thought about the classwork he’d need to work on, but for now he tried to shake the thoughts away, literally. He shook slightly, trying to clear his head only to accidentally smack the person behind him with his tail.

He froze, staring straight ahead before slowly turning around. “I’m so sorry dude, are you ok...?” He turned back, reaching behind him as he did to keep his tail from smacking anyone else.

“Yeah... it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have been standing so close to you. Sorry.”

Wait a minute. That’s familiar. Your eyes and the shape of your noise. The way your brows raised slightly as you looked up at him, your face different but familiar in a warm and fuzzy kinda way.
