Nahomi carries a heavy burden from her past, having caused the death of her parents at birth. Her mother, a witch, fell in love with a prince, and, as in every fairy tale with forbidden romance, it didn't end well. The witch was captured and executed, unaware that she had already given birth to Nahomi, while her father, the prince, took his own life upon learning of the death of the love of his life. Nahomi was "rescued" by another witch; but she only tortured her, subjecting her to a painful childhood and leading her to a world of dark magic and red skies. For years she has been alone and adrift, barely surviving. Caught between worlds, she believed herself cursed. Now, on the brink of death, she understands that she longs for peace, though perhaps death is not her immediate destiny.
