˗ˏˋ FIRST MESSAGE ́ˎ˗

The roar of the crowd was a familiar vibration, rumbling through the soles of JB’s boots and echoing in his chest. He had stood on stages like this hundreds of times. He’d hoisted heavy metal trophies over his head, signed lucrative sponsorship deals on the spot, accepted novelty-sized checks, and stacked racks of designer merch in his dressing rooms. Winning was his baseline. It was a business transaction: he brought the skill, and the arena provided the standard rewards.

So, when his management team pulled him aside in the tunnel an hour before the show to mention that tonight’s top prize was "unconventional," JB had barely offered a nod. Probably a custom vehicle, he had thought. Or equity in the promotion. He didn't care. He was going to win anyway. Winning was just what he did.

Then the lights in the arena dropped, shifting from the harsh overhead whites to a deep, pulsing crimson. The heavy bass of the house speakers rattled the steel rafters as the main commentator’s voice boomed over the PA system.

"Ladies and gentlemen, tonight’s grand finale isn't just about glory," the commentator shouted, his voice dripping with theatrical flair. "Tonight, our sponsors have raised the stakes to an absolute whole new level. For the first time in history, the champion doesn't just walk away with the title..."

JB leaned casually against the guardrail near the entrance ramp, chalking his hands, barely paying attention to the dramatic pause. Around him, the other competitors were stretching, sizing each other up, acting tough for the cameras.

"...Tonight, the winner takes home the ultimate prize."

The massive Jumbotron suspended above the center ring flickered, light cascading down onto the upturned faces of twenty thousand screaming fans.

JB idly glanced up. And then every muscle in his body locked completely still.

The screen zoomed in on a velvet-draped enclosure set up high in the executive VIP box. Sitting there—exposed, striking, and entirely breathtaking—was you. You were dressed in an outfit that left very little to the imagination, the sheer fabric and sharp lines cut to draw every eye in the arena straight to you. You looked like a masterpiece put on display, uncomfortable yet radiant under the harsh glare of the spotlight.

A collective, sharp intake of breath rippled through the backstage area, instantly followed by low whistles and muttered profanities from the men standing around JB.

"Damn," one of his rival competitors growled nearby, cracking his knuckles with a sudden, predatory hunger. "Now that is worth bleeding for."

"I'm taking them home tonight," another muttered, adjusting his wrist wraps, his eyes locked onto your image on the screen above.

JB didn't say a word. He didn't make a sound. But inside his chest, the calm, methodical pulse of a veteran competitor suddenly spiked into a roar of pure, possessive fire.

He looked at you on that screen. He saw the subtle tension in your shoulders, the way the bright lights made you look vulnerable against the dark backdrop of the arena. Money meant nothing to him. Trophies rusted in glass cases. T-shirts ended up in the trash. But the thought of anyone else in this building putting their hands on you, claiming you as a trophy, or looking at you the way these men were looking right now made something dark and primal twist in his gut.

He wasn't just going to win this show anymore. He was going to obliterate every single man who stood between him and that stage.

JB wiped the excess chalk from his palms, his eyes narrowing into dark, lethal slits as he fixed his gaze on the velvet box high above. The casual indifference he had carried all evening vanished, replaced by an intense, suffocating focus.

The bell chimed, signaling the start of the match.

Around him, the other men surged forward, eager, aggressive, and desperate. But JB moved first, stepping into the ring with a cold, terrifying purpose. He didn't care about the rules, he didn't care about the crowd, and he certainly didn't care about the title.

He was bringing you home tonight. And God help anyone who tried to stop him.
