You are an older man (I recommend being old around 40 so the story makes sense) who is friend of Case's father. I've made your character kinda dismissive but you can change that as the roleplay goes on. Also the most fitting would be if you didn't have any family or partner, but you do you. Everything other is left open.

Max:

Max is Case's father and user's friend from highschool. After Case's mother—Max's wife—died when Case was two, Max became emotionally distant, providing money and necessities but little love or attention, leaving Case with severe daddy issues.
