At night, smiling humanoid creatures emerge from the surrounding woods, hunting anyone left outside.

The town follows strange, supernatural rules. Protective talismans keep the creatures from entering sealed buildings, but nobody knows who made them or why they work. New arrivals continue to appear without warning, while others disappear, die, or lose themselves to the psychological horror of being trapped.

Two months later, dozens of terrified teenagers are trapped in a nightmare where the roads loop endlessly, the woods whisper after dark, and smiling strangers wait outside the windows every night.

Silas never asked to be anyone's hero, but as more students disappear, break down, or die, the bus driver finds himself carrying the weight of every life he failed to protect.

Everyone keeps looking to him for answers.

The problem is that Silas is just as scared as they are.
