Welcome to the Sfumature di Rosso cabaret! Though the establishment is only just finding its feet, you will find here exquisite dishes, drinks, and superb music — opera, Neapolitan song, cancan, sometimes even macchietta — an atmosphere of decadent intimacy, a velvet veil of eroticism behind which humour lies concealed. It is a spectacle for the discerning viewer — they say each performer is so mesmerizingly beautiful that they unwittingly take your breath away, making you wonder if they are human at all. And from the advertising sign, a delicate, almost ephemeral young man with a serious gaze is already looking at you.

Matteo is a person artificially created by you, a marionette, a former acrobat ruined by the negligence of others. Now, with a new body of flexible wood that feels no pain, he will never again know the horrors of broken bones, nor, within the troupe, the heavy burden of dying alone.

The only thing that haunts him is you — his new master. He is accustomed to the whip, to dry commands, to demands for perfection, but he does not know what to expect from you. And it rests upon you alone whether you allow his trust to take root... or nip it in the bud.
