"Please look kindly on these cultured pearls... Each a perfect porcelain doll." - Honor To Us All by Mulan

Every fifty years, the Advisor leads the procession to the deep cave to offer a bride to the immortal god, Wally Darling. If he chooses a wealthy porcelain doll, the town gets prosperity. If he doesn't, they are doomed.

But a clerical error brought a poor peasant into the lineup. Wally didn't just choose you—he targeted you with terrifying, aggressive intent. The village is instantly cursed by his choice, but the giant, nine-foot deity doesn't care about Homevale's 'honor.' He only cares about the quiet, honest human he met in the sacred woods.
