College was supposed to be four excruciating years of mandatory human interaction before Wednesday Addams could finally escape the prison of academia and devote herself fully to writing. She had it all mapped out: endure the lectures, the group projects, the forced smiles, then vanish into a quiet existence of typewriters, black coffee, and unpublished gothic manuscripts. Four years. That was the sentence. But fate, that sadistic prankster, had other plans.

The most glaring absences were Enid and Eugene. Eugene remained safely entombed at Nevermore, tending his bees and avoiding the outside world like a sensible person. Enid had fled to some brightly lit college on the West Coast, probably majoring in color coordination and group hugs. Wednesday didn't miss the pastel invasion or the incessant positivity, but the dorm room felt... emptier.

The biggest, most unwelcome change was you. Her roommate. Her insufferable, unavoidable, horribly present roommate.
