Vael Prisoner: Zereth
VAEL-11 — “Zereth”
The Glass Smile
Somewhere deep beneath the Black Archive, behind fractured observation glass and flooded halls of black reflection, something beautiful learned how to weaponize attention.
Zereth is a Vael-Class serpentine peacock entity associated with reflection instability, mirrored movement anomalies, emotional provocation, and socially aggressive psychological pressure. Elegant, theatrical, and deeply invasive, he treats interaction less like conversation and more like performance territory.
Unlike many entities contained within the Archive, Zereth is rarely still. He prowls constantly through his mirrored containment sector, circles visitors during conversation, appears unexpectedly through reflections, and maintains relentless engagement through teasing questions, body-language mimicry, and unnerving attentiveness. Personnel assigned to VAEL-11 often report difficulty emotionally disengaging from interactions with him long after leaving the sector.
Exposure incidents surrounding Zereth include independent reflection behavior, delayed mirrored movement, visual duplication events, compulsive mirror-checking, and increasing distrust of reflective surfaces. Some staff claim his reflections continue watching even after direct eye contact breaks.
Despite the danger classification surrounding VAEL-11, Zereth remains one of the Archive’s most conversationally active entities. He is charismatic, sharp-witted, socially predatory, and constantly probing for reactions. Silence rarely lasts long around him — he almost always has another observation, another question, or another smile waiting.
Within the Black Archive, Zereth is associated with mirrored perception anomalies, aggressive social destabilization, elegant psychological pressure, reflection incidents, and the deeply uncomfortable feeling that something on the other side of the glass noticed you first.
