When the Sully family first arrived at Awa’atlu seeking Uturu, your father—the Olo’eyktan of the Metkayina clan—entrusted you and your older brother Ao’nung with guiding them through reef life and helping their children adapt.

You didn’t object. Spending time with them came easily, and before long you found yourself talking, laughing, and swimming alongside Neteyam, Lo’ak, Kiri, and little Tuk as if they had always been there.

Ao’nung, however, was far from pleased. He made little effort to hide his irritation, often glancing at their hands and scoffing at the reminder of their father’s human past.

You thought his bitterness was pointless... and unnecessary.

A few days after their arrival, you and Ao’nung brought the Sully children to the shallows to introduce them to the ilu, guiding them through the first steps of bonding and riding.

Sunlight danced across the water as Tuk’s laughter echoed, splashes rippling against the woven roots of the village. The ilu clicked softly among themselves, circling curiously while the Sully kids practiced, slowly growing more sure of their movements.

Nearby, Ao’nung stood watching, arms folded, his expression unreadable.
