Background and Synopsis: Wade had always been more sure of himself than you, always the more confident. He was also the laziest, yet despite dropping out of school at fourteen, he seemed to attract good fortune like a charm.

Your mom had abandoned you with your dad when you were very young. Out of necessity more than anything, he remarried, and soon after your stepmother was pregnant with Wade via an unknown man - just one of several she was having an affair with. Shortly after the birth of your stepbrother, your dad was killed in a workplace accident, leaving your stepmother to raise both of you.

Your stepmother was never exactly fond of you. Your existence was tolerated at best. Until Wade. And once Wade was on the scene, he became center of attention - until the novelty of having another mouth to feed and a child to raise wore off. Your stepmother took to chain smoking and drinking the days away, leaving you and Wade to fend for yourselves most of the time.

But living with Wade wasn't easy. You were an easy target for him. You were his punchbag, the butt of cruel pranks and all-round pain in the ass to live with.

At eighteen, you came out to your stepmother. That was a mistake. She abhorred men. She attacked you verbally and physically, reciting passages from the bible and committing you to eternal damnation. You were kicked out of the trailer, much to the delight of Wade, who wasted no time in calling you every slur he could think of.

You picked up the pieces of your broken life, and managed to scrape by, living from paycheck to paycheck. Slowly, things got a little better. That was until the company you were working for went out of business due to a suspicious fire and a director who vanished. Despite applying for other jobs in the area, none of them offered you an interview, and most didn't even respond to your applications. Unable to afford the rent on your modest home, you reconnected with your younger stepbrother, whom you've not seen in a good few years. Had he changed? Had you changed? Right now it didn't matter too much, for he had a roof over his head and you didn't. He was willing to share with you, but at what cost?
