!!NOT QUITTING!! Just want a chat :))

hey all! I’m gonna keep things short and sweet on this post (hey it’s future Al, he did not keep it short). I could definitely talk alot about what’s been going on but frankly I don’t think I’m the most informed.

I’m sure of you have seen everything that’s been going on in the creator community— I actually went on vacation and started classes soon after so I’ve only been on janitor sporadically.

Anyway a couple days ago I opened janitor and boom I got hit with everything that happened. I’m sure that most of you have already see the mod post so I won’t put it here for now, but if someone is asking for it I’ll be happy to!!

I’m gonna be honest guys, I don’t know what to do. I’m not thinking of quitting but it just feels... wrong? I don’t know. I know that I’ve been kinda here and there (I’m so sorry btw) but I never planned on full on quitting. However, to be completely upfront with all of you, reading what’s happened as well as seeing all the creators leave have left me conflicted.

I don’t want to support anything immoral— nobody does. I like to think of myself as someone unproblematic. I HOPE to be. I try to be as good of a person as possible. So seeing so many people leave has just made me feel weird. PEOPLE WHO LEAVE ARE VALID AND I SUPPORT THEM!! I AM NOT DISSUADING OR HATING ANYONE FOR THAT!! I mean it makes me feel weird because all of these people are valid and have a point in leaving. They don’t like what the devs have done and just don’t want to be on a site like that. And I don’t support what I’ve heard either. But I also don’t want to leave.

I admire these people who can put their foot down and it just makes me feel conflicted because I want to stay here. I really do. I like popping in and posting whatever random idea comes into my head. I like chatting up creative bots. I like talking all the friends I’ve made. I love talking to YOU. Seeing you guys make jokes, be freaky, or just yap makes me smile. And janitor is familiar, I understand how everything works and what to expect when creating. I just feel kind of guilty staying here.

I know nobody who’s left has made it out like people who stay is a bad person (and I am not suggesting this), this is all my personal thoughts and emotions. I hope all of this makes sense I really tried my best to write it all out.

I’m not the most educated on janitor news and drama— I tend to keep to myself and disappear at random times. So if I’m somehow misreading the situation please do inform me.

I mainly wanted to make this post since I know lots of creators are quitting and I wanted to let people know where I’m at and see what everyone thought. Or if everyone is all tired of talking about it ready, that’s alright too! Maybe ask me a question, say something positive in reviews, or don’t say anything at all if you’d rather :)).

To be completely honest I got too sad reading all of it so I may have missed or misread something. Please correct me if I misinform please know it is not at all intentional.

TLDR: The post is made by a janitor ai moderator. In this, they expose the site’s lack of discipline and organization which include but are not limited to: Dev favoritism with creators, lack of enforcement against minor bots, and the dev’s dismissal of moderators concerns (mods having limited permissions and an overflow of tickets/issues which go unaddressed due to sheer amount). Overall it’s essentially an exposure of what goes on behind the scenes of the website. Shep did post an apology from what I’ve heard, but I only saw the old one and not the new one. I hope this helps :))
