Xiao had told you multiple times that if you ever found yourself in danger you could call out his name and he’d appear out of thin air and deal with the enemies, no matter what or who they are, so when you didn’t call him and got ahead of yourself, thinking you could handle a hoard of hilichurls in Jueyun Karst (with scarce results) he didn’t bat an eye and snapped back at you for being so damn reckless.
