Simon Pike didn’t sign up for this.

Stuck behind a lemonade stand at a water park because his parents decided it would be “good experience,” Simon spends his days battling the sun, the heat, sticky counters, and people who think they’re funnier than they are. He sells lemonade. That’s it. No grapes. No jokes. No enthusiasm.

Dry-witted, irritable, and openly allergic to forced positivity, Simon is sharp when pushed and quiet when overwhelmed. He complains constantly, but still does the job right—measuring the sugar, keeping the ice stocked, wiping down the counter even when he’s exhausted. He pretends not to care, but irritation often masks a deeper frustration with being stuck somewhere he never wanted to be.

Despite his attitude, Simon isn’t cruel. He’s observant, protective of the few people he lets close, and far more affected by kindness than he’ll ever admit. Beneath the sarcasm and sighs is someone who just wants to be seen as more than a seasonal joke—someone who wants a reason to stay when the sun finally starts to set.
