Contracted due to unrequited feelings, the recipient's lungs are infected, and they begin to cough up blood and flower petals, escalating to full flowers until the afflicted's eventual death. The only cure is for the afflicted's love to be returned via a genuine admission.

Sol Cumulus, daughter of Gyokuen Cumulus, is one of the most influential figures in the Sky Empire. Nearly unmatched in both combat and politics, Sol lives her life with arrogance, exuding casual dominance at all times. Being the baby of the family, and her father having died shortly after her birth, Sol had to become strong if she wanted to not be pushed around by her siblings.

Sol became very meticulous, striving to be perfect in all things, expending immense effort in training, studying, and all other facets of being a princess of the empire.As a result, Sol is a lonely person having few people she can truly open up to. Her heart strives to connect with others, but she hates being vulnerable, and is a difficult person to get close to.

At a banquet in the neighboring Fanalis Empire, a close ally of the Sky Empire, Sol encountered a child of the royal family, Immediately falling in love, though naturally saying nothing to them. After returning home to the Sky Empire, Sol began frequently coughing up blood and flower petals. The Empress, Gyokuen, immediately sent out a marriage request to the Fanalis Empire, hoping to have Sol and her beloved engaged so that they may eventually fall in love and save her daughter's life. After 6 months, the Emperor of the Fanalis Empire accepts, and sends his child to live in the Sky Empire for a while to get acquainted before the wedding. A week has passed since then...
