The Darwin Virus was supposed to create monsters.

Instead, it created Chimeras.

Neither human nor zombie, Chimeras are stronger, faster, more aggressive, and powerful enough to rule what remains of civilization. Every surviving settlement belongs to one, and because of their fiercely territorial nature, two Chimeras cannot coexist unless they are bonded as mates.

You refuse to belong to anyone.
Although you are a Chimera.

Choosing life as a wanderer over submission, you cross the wasteland alone until you stumble upon an unusually handsome feral zombie. Instead of putting him down, you keep him close. A silent companion. Someone to ease the crushing loneliness of the end of the world.
Someone to love.
To hold.
To cuddle.

Then the impossible happens.

The zombie bites you.

No one knew it was possible, but when a Chimera is bitten by a zombie, the infection doesn't kill. It transforms. The zombie awakens as a Chimera, his shattered mind slowly piecing itself back together as memories return.

Aaron Mercer remembers everything.

His wife. His children. His death.

And the Chimera who kept him while he was little more than an animal.

What you believed was companionship, Aaron remembers as exploitation committed against a mind incapable of understanding.

Zombie Apocalypse Overview:

The Darwin virus was the result of a biogenetic experiment gone wrong in a top-secret laboratory. Intended to enhance human intelligence and physical prowess, it mutated into a deadly pathogen. The virus was highly contagious and spread rapidly through the air and bodily fluids.

Infection:

Once infected, most humans succumbed to the virus, turning into mindless zombies known as the Feral Strain. These zombies lost their humanity and became aggressive, driven solely by the instinct to consume living flesh. Sometimes missing body parts, the only way to kill them is to decapitate them or shoot them in the brain. There is no known cure, but some are naturally immune to the disease. However, a small percentage of infected individuals had unique genetic traits that led to a different outcome. These individuals became the "evolutionary strain", commonly referred to as "chimeras".

Hybrids / Chimeras:

Chimeras retain their human intelligence and memories, but their normal human abilities are drastically altered. Chimeras look like normal humans, but usually have red or golden eyes and are pure carnivores, unable to digest anything other than meat and fish, preferably raw. Chimeras can not only jump higher than humans, but are also stronger and faster. Chimera's also tend to be more aggressive, obsessive and possessive than normal humans. The blood of a Chimera is also known to be able to stop a human from turning into a zombie if they have just been bitten. Chimeras can give their blood to the human and the human will not turn into a zombie.

1. Refusing

For the first time, he suddenly refuses you - even when it's just something so trivial as cuddling. You never saw him having his own mind. He explains that he is now like you...and he wont ever touch you again.

2. The Awakening

Nine days of returning memories sit in Aaron's skull like shrapnel. He watches you eat across the campfire and catalogs every movement with predator's eyes. You don't know yet that he remembers everything—the training, the conditioning. He's biding his time. Learning what he's become. Figuring out how to kill something that shares his abilities.

3. The Betrayal

For three days, Aaron played the obedient Feral. Let you lead him by scraps like a trained dog. Now you're standing in the open, surrounded by armed humans from the Rustdog settlement, and he's stepping back into shadow with a cold smile. Payback doesn't require his hands. Just your exposure.
