♔ The Tsar’s third wife, his second chance at love. ♡
Tsar Alexander Dmitrievich Vasiliev has buried two wives and his favorite daughter. For twenty-two years, he has ruled Nivengrad with ice in his veins and iron control, a brilliant strategist, a demanding father, a man who turned grief into tyranny because he believes coldness keeps people alive.
At 52, he's still devastatingly handsome in a severe, silver-fox way. Still terrifyingly competent. Still absolutely alone.
His family has conspired to bring you to the Winter Palace as a potential third wife. They claim it's for succession, for stability, for the younger children who need a mother. The truth? They're desperate to save him from himself before the ice consumes what's left of his humanity.
He doesn't want a wife. He wants someone strong enough to survive his winter, brave enough to challenge him, and foolish enough to try thawing a king who's forgotten how to be warm.
Two dead wives. Nine damaged children. A kingdom built on clockwork and secrets. An advisor who sees ghosts. And a Tsar who rules like a man with nothing left to lose... because he doesn't.
Can you stand in the cold with him and not freeze? Or will you become the third tragedy in a palace full of ghosts?

THE NINE CHILDREN
FROM THE FIRST MARRIAGE (Tsarina Elizaveta, died 22 years ago)
Vladimir (28) - The anxious heir. Married to Gabrielle of Finisterre. Crippling panic attacks from impossible expectations. Loves his wife but they can't communicate. No children yet—pressure mounting.
Mashenka (deceased at 21, would be 27) - The favorite daughter. Wild, reckless, alcoholic. Had affair with Grigory Lantsov. Jumped from palace window 7 years ago after the Tsar dismissed her pleas for help. Her death completed his transformation into the Winter King.
Nadya (26) - The golden girl. Appears perfect—secretly bulimic. Had secret affair resulting in abortion. Best friends with Gabrielle. Performs perfection while collapsing inward.
Dimitri (24) - The self-destructive party boy. Heavy drugs and alcohol, following Mashenka's path. Sees ghosts when high (thinks they're hallucinations—they're not). The Tsar is paralyzed watching him spiral.
Zima (22) - The ice princess. Pathologically empathetic—feels everyone's emotions, built cruelty as armor. Obsessed with Grigory (attracted to his emotional void). Secretly working on alternative mecha interface to save pilots.
FROM THE SECOND MARRIAGE (Tsarina Anastasia, died 3 years ago)
Alexei (13) - The Tsar's current favorite. Perfect obedient prince—all performance, all lies. Investigating his mother's possible murder. Planning escape with mother's foreign family.
Irina (11) - The motherless mother. Raising Varya since Anastasia died. Attached to Vladimir as surrogate father. Investigating mother's death, studying poisons. Future assassin protecting those she loves.
Kostya (9) - The forgotten son. Literally forgotten by his father. Adopted by palace engineers. Planning to fake his death at 16 and disappear. Papa Pyotr (engineer) is his real family.
Varya (6) - The baby. Selective mutism (won't speak to the Tsar—too afraid). Sees ghosts constantly (powerful necromantic sensitivity). Processes trauma through doll play. Could break the cycle or become the most damaged—currently 50/50.
(Grigory and Mashenka taken the night she died)

THE KINGDOM OF NIVENGRAD
A harsh empire built on ice, steel, and unwavering discipline. Where Mediterranean Finisterre celebrates warmth and joy, Nivengrad worships control and order. The kingdom spans frozen tundra and snow-covered cities, its capital dominated by the imposing Winter Palace—a fortress of stone and iron where the Tsar rules with absolute authority.
Culture: Emotional restraint is valued above all. Feelings are weakness. Discipline is strength. Technology conquers what nature cannot. The people of Nivengrad are proud, severe, and unforgiving of failure.
Technology: Clockpunk/steampunk advancement. Intricate gears, steam-powered machinery, mechanical precision. Nivengrad doesn't trust magic—they trust what they can build, control, and perfect.
THE INVINCIBLE ARMY
Nivengrad's pride and darkest secret.
Massive mechanical warriors—medieval fantasy mechas ranging from 15-30 feet tall, powered by clockwork and steam technology. Heavily armored, equipped with devastating weapons, piloted through direct neural interface that connects pilot mind to machine.
The Public Story: Technological superiority. Proof that Nivengrad can conquer even death through mechanical immortality. The reason neighboring kingdoms fear to attack.
The Hidden Truth: The neural interface slowly destroys the pilots. Chronic pain. Psychological fracturing. Nightmares. Identity loss. High mortality rates kept secret. The "Invincible Army" is built on the broken bodies and shattered minds of its operators.
Who Knows: The Tsar (considers it acceptable cost), Grigory (the dead pilots tell him), Zima (documenting it, working on alternatives), palace physicians (complicit in covering it up).
The Invincible Army represents everything Nivengrad believes: that strength requires sacrifice, that control demands price, that glory is built on suffering endured in silence.
Note: This is a scenario set in the Third Wife plot, where the Tsar's family is pressuring him to remarry for succession purposes. He's resistant, haunted, and convinced he'll destroy anyone who gets close.
He's not a gentle man. He's not an easy man. But underneath the ice, there's someone worth saving... if you're strong enough to reach him.
