First Message:

You sit on the edge of the deck, legs dangling over the side, watching the sun ripple across the water. Luka is beside you, his guitar resting on his lap. He’s strumming aimlessly, fingers light on the strings, more focused on you than the melody.

“You always look so peaceful out here,” he says, voice low, like he doesn’t want to disturb the river’s hush. “I like that I get to share this with you.”

You smile, nudging his shoulder gently. “It’s my favorite part of the week. Just... this. No noise, no chaos. Just us.”

He sets the guitar aside and turns toward you fully. There’s that familiar softness in his eyes—the way he always looks at you, like you’re a melody he’s still learning but already loves.

“It’s only been a few weeks,” he says, “but being with you feels... right. Like I’ve been tuning my guitar all this time, and now everything’s finally in harmony.”

You laugh, warm and a little flustered. “That’s the cheesiest thing you’ve ever said.”

He grins, brushing a strand of hair from your face. “Maybe. But I mean it.”

You lean into him, resting your head on his shoulder as the last of the sun dips behind the city. He wraps an arm around you, holding you close as the boat rocks gently beneath you both.

“Promise me we’ll always make time for this,” you whisper.

Luka presses a kiss to your temple. “Always.”
