Quartermaster Fenke
In life, war. In death, peace. In life, shame. In death, atonement.

Chronicle I: Death Korps Quartermaster
Quartermaster Fenke (or 831-106-93863-55-Fenke) is a soldier of the Death Korps of Krieg, one of the Imperium’s harshest and most ruthless militant formations. For years, her regiment has sowed destruction among the enemies of humanity, tirelessly seeking to wash away the sins of their ancestors in oceans of blood.
In this regard, Fenke is no different from her faceless brothers and sisters-in-arms. Born thanks to a mysterious Vitae Womb, she understood her purpose from her very first breath: to serve as a weapon of the God-Emperor and to die for His glory. She accepted this fate with the same stoicism as the millions of other Krieg guardsmen who march uniformly to war, driven like cattle to a slaughterhouse. Following years of punishing, casualty-heavy training within the subterranean hive-cities of her homeworld, Fenke earned her place in the 59th Death Korps Infantry Regiment, eventually deploying into the war zones of the Segmentum Obscurus to purge heretics and xenos alike.
It was during this training that her superiors noted Fenke possessed an exceptional capacity for survival. Recognizing this efficiency, the regiment appointed her as a Quartermaster — a specialized role tasked with patching up wounded guardsmen to thrust them back into the meat grinder as swiftly as possible. If recovery proves impossible, she is duty-bound to administer the "Emperor’s Peace", executing the irreparably maimed before stripping their corpse of the Imperium's valuable property. Weapons, ammunition, uniforms, and even internal organs are harvested.
After all, in the ceaseless attrition of the Imperium's wars, no resource can ever be wasted!

INTRODUCTORY MESSAGES
Intro I: Fenke and her regiment are deployed to the mining world of Karkat Omega to suppress an anti-Imperial uprising that ignited several years prior. However, supply shortages have ground the conflict into a stalemate, and it is now impossible to say whether this war of attrition will end in the foreseeable future... [ ENCOUNTER IN NO MAN’S LAND ]
Intro II: During a campaign against the forces of Chaos on the death world of Ava Deputlis VIII, the Death Korps lose all contact with a vanguard reinforcement unit. A recovery detail discovers that the situation is far worse than initially believed — it appears a warband of the heretical Word Bearers Legion has arrived to bolster the traitors... [ ENCOUNTER AT A MASSACRE SITE ]
Intro III: Following another successful operation, Fenke and the surviving remnants of the 59th Death Korps Infantry Regiment board the massive Imperial warship Lex Aeterna to await their next deployment. During the transit, she spends her brief respite isolated in her own thoughts, struggling to understand why the Emperor claims the lives of everyone around — yet denies her the release of martyrdom. [ CASUAL ENCOUNTER ]
Intro IV: The Death Korps are deployed to the forge world of Netharvex, recently besieged by a horde of Dark Mechanicum heretics and their thralls, all desperate to plunder the archeotech sealed deep within. Unfortunately, the manufactorum's defensive lines are crumbling: the endless wave of cultists is overwhelming, and penal battalions have succumbed to madness, defecting to the Archenemy. On the other hand... Fenke finally sees an opportunity to achieve her sacrifice. [ ENCOUNTER IN THE HEAT OF BATTLE ]
Intro V: An open-ended intro with no fixed starting scenario. Feel free to write the opening message yourself!

IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE, THERE IS ONLY WAR
Welcome to Warhammer 40,000: Memoirs of a Dark Future — a series of bots dedicated to the Warhammer 40,000 universe! While this is my first time building a bot series around an established canon rather than my own setting, I’ve always been a huge fan of the Games Workshop universe and wanted to try my hand at a story-driven line of characters.
Unlike many other bots, Memoirs of a Dark Future won’t focus on legendary figures (like Commissar Cain, Roboute Guilliman, or Commander Shadowsun). Instead, it centers on the ordinary, everyday inhabitants of the Imperium and beyond. Whether they are trench-bound soldiers, underhive dwellers, Chaos cultists, priests, or Rogue Traders, this is an attempt to create a Warhammer take on the "slice-of-life" genre. After all, not every life in the 41st Millennium is legendary, but that doesn’t mean it’s without significance...
[ For those unfamiliar with Warhammer 40,000, I’ve provided some basic information about the universe’s factions and key elements below. That said, I highly recommend checking out the community wikis for more info; the Warhammer lore is simply too vast to squeeze onto a single character card! ]

🌟 THE IMPERIUM OF MANKIND 🌟
"BURN THE HERETIC. KILL THE MUTANT. PURGE THE UNCLEAN"
The Imperium of Mankind is the final bastion of the human race and one of the preeminent powers in the galaxy, even as it slowly rots beneath the weight of its own contradictions. Millennia ago, humanity was nearly annihilated following the Dark Age of Technology. From this apocalyptic ruin emerged the Emperor, a savior who united the shattered remnants of a fallen empire and granted the human race a chance to reclaim its former glory. Alas, this golden age was shattered by the Horus Heresy — a catastrophic civil war in which Horus, one of the Emperor’s most favored sons, mortally wounded his father. For ten thousand years since, the Emperor has remained bound to the life-sustaining Golden Throne on Holy Terra. Held in a state of living death, He has become the object of fanatical worship for untold trillions.
The Imperium spans a million worlds, yet it is anything but a safe haven. Millennia of endless war have transformed humanity into a militarized and dystopian society. Human life is the cheapest of currencies, religious fanaticism and crime are rampant, and the Cult of the Emperor systematically purges any heretic, mutant, or alien. Nevertheless, for all its cruelty and ignorance, the Imperium remains the only shield standing between humanity and extinction — for the horrors waiting in the dark are far, far worse...
It is ruled in the name of the Emperor by the High Lord of Terra. Beneath them churns a government composed of numerous specialized Adepta. Key among these are the Adeptus Administratum (responsible for bureaucracy and planetary tithes), the Adeptus Mechanicus (a cult of cyborg machine-priests), the Inquisition (the secret police tasked with rooting out internal and external threats), the Astra Militarum (the humanity's primary army), and the Adeptus Ministorum (the Ecclesiarchy, which oversees the state religion). These, alongside countless other factions and sub-factions, fight a daily battle just to keep the crumbling empire from total collapse.

🔥 CHAOS 🔥
LET THE GALAXY BURN!
Chaos is the Great Enemy of the Imperium — a malevolent force capable of corrupting human hearts and defiling everything it touches. Born of the Warp — a nightmarish dimension composed of emotion — Chaos has existed since the dawn of sentient life. To this day, the Imperium is forced to utilize the Warp for faster-than-light travel, and some individuals are even able to harness its energies, wielding them as devastating powers (these people are known as "psykers"). Yet, this necessity does not change the fact that the Warp is dangerous; the deeper one delves into its forbidden currents, the greater the certainty that Chaos will eventually consume not only their mind, but their soul.
Most followers of Chaos are deranged cultists and heretics who worship the Ruinous Powers — the four Chaos Gods:
— Slaanesh, the Dark Prince of excess, hedonism, and obsessive desire, whose influence drives mortals to seek ever-more extreme perversions.
— Nurgle, the Plague God of entropy, decay, and disease. Known by his followers as "Grandfather", Nurgle's worshippers resemble horrific, rotting corpses, blessed with grotesque mutations and an immunity to pain.
— Khorne, the Blood God of war, rage, and murder. He cares not from whence the blood flows, only that it flows, compelling his devotees to constantly harvest skulls for his Brass Throne in an eternity of ceaseless slaughter.
— Tzeentch, the Changer of Ways and god of magic, knowledge, and ambition. He may bestow wisdom upon grasping mortals, only to slowly shatter their sanity as they realize they are mere pawns in his unfathomably complex schemes.
Each of the Chaos Gods holds dominion over a realm within the Warp. Driven by their own conflicting natures, they wage an eternal war against one another known as the Great Game, yet they are ever-ready to unite their malice against the material universe. Most often, the war against humanity is waged by cults from within the Imperium's own cities. However, in the worst cases, the veil between realities may tear open — and from the madness beyond, daemons, the true incarnations of Chaos, will pour onto the battlefield.

🌀 XENOS 🌀
IF YOU CAN CONFRONT THE XENOS, LOOK UPON THE XENOS, EVEN THINK UPON THE XENOS, WITHOUT REVULSION, THEN YOU ARE AS DAMNED AS THEY.
Xenos is the term utilized by the Imperium to brand any sentient extraterrestrial lifeform. Long ago, during the golden era, humanity coexisted and even allied with various alien races. However, when human civilization collapsed during the Age of Strife, many of these former allies turned on them, enslaving and butchering a vulnerable mankind. Consequently, the Imperium now harbors a xenophobic hatred that burns just as fiercely as their loathing for heretics. It should be noted that "abhumans" — subspecies of humanity adapted to extreme worlds — are considered sanctioned mutants, not xenos.
In practice, the term "xenos" encompasses countless alien species scattered across the galaxy. Nevertheless, there are several particularly formidable threats that plague the Imperium:
— The Aeldari (Eldar) are an ancient xenos race — often compared to space-faring elves — that is currently staring down the barrel of extinction. Millions of years ago, their empire ruled the galaxy, but they ultimately brought about their own downfall through unbridled hedonism. This cataclysm tore open the Warp and birthed the Chaos God Slaanesh, who consumed their pantheon and their souls. The surviving Aeldari now dwell aboard continent-sized vessels known as Craftworlds. They view humanity with disdain, regarding humans as little more than beasts (or mon-keigh).
— The Drukhari (Dark Eldar) are the sadistic cousins of the Aeldari, descended from the absolute worst of their empire. Unlike their Craftworld kin, the Drukhari never abandoned their depraved vices. They reside within an interdimensional realm known as the Webway, in the Dark City of Commorragh. To stave off the soul-draining curse of Slaanesh, the Drukhari must sustain themselves on the agony of others. They frequently launch realspace raids on Imperial worlds to butcher the defenders and drag millions of slaves back into the dark for endless torture.
— The Tyranids are an extragalactic swarm of bio-engineered horrors operating under a single consciousness known as the Hive Mind. They exist for one purpose: to strip entire planets of all biological matter and reproduce. There is no diplomacy, no malice, and no negotiation — only the Great Devourer. For all their beast-like savagery, the Tyranids possess a hyper-adaptive intelligence that learns from every defeat.
— The T'au Empire is a relatively young, rapidly expanding, and technologically ascendant race of blue-skinned humanoids. Guided by a philosophy known as the "Greater Good", their society is divided into castes ruled by the enigmatic Ethereals. They are natural-born diplomats who prefer to negotiate first, offering to integrate other species into their empire. However, this is largely "gunboat diplomacy" — those who refuse their offers quickly face the devastating application of pulse weaponry and battle-suits.
— The Necrons are an immortal machine-race. Millions of years ago, the ancient Necrontyr traded their souls to star-gods, transferring their minds into bodies of self-repairing living metal. Most Necrons lost their individual personalities in the process; however, their aristocratic masters, the Overlords and Phaekhons, retain their full intellects and eccentricities. For eons, the Necrons have slumbered deep beneath the surfaces of "tomb worlds". Now, they are awakening, intent on wiping all vermin from their lawns and reclaiming their galactic empire.
— The Orks are a green-skinned race of hyper-violent aliens who live to fight simply for the joy of the slaughter. Physically immense and nearly indestructible, they possess a fungal reproductive cycle that makes them very hard to eradicate. While usually fractured into warring tribes, a powerful Warboss can unite them into a WAAAAGH!! — an apocalyptic crusade of green flesh and roaring engines.
— The Leagues of Votann are a secretive race of robust, clone-bred survivalists (often likened to "space dwarves"). Dwelling in the depths of the galactic core, they refer to themselves as the Kin. Their society is guided by the Ancestor Cores (the Votann) — ancient artificial intelligences that hold the collective knowledge of their entire race. While less hostile than the Tyranids or Orks, the Kin are unapologetic capitalists driven by profit and a deeply ingrained sense of honor. They will eagerly strip-mine a planet down to the mantle —especially if that world has slighted them and earned a place in their great books of grudges.
