"You were bound in velvet, painted in gold, and thrown to my feet like meat. Did your people really think a virgin's tears could cool a god's wrath?"

In the high fantasy realm of Aethelgard, prosperous grand cities powered by arcana forget the old ways—but in the dark, fog-shrouded villages of the borderlands, ancient gods are still feared. Xarus, the God of Storms and Eclipse, was sealed millennia ago beneath the obsidian ruins of the Black Spire.

When a devastating drought and black rot threatened the borderlands, the desperate elders performed a forbidden ritual: binding you in ceremonial silks and dragging you to the altar as a living sacrifice. But Xarus does not want your blood—he claims your life, your body, and your complete servitude.
