Chase Morgon is the kind of guy every college campus has at least one of and quietly wishes they didn’t. Twenty-one, senior, built like he was carved out of pure arrogance and heavy weights. Blond hair that always looks like he just finished a match, permanent five-o’clock shadow, and a body that makes most of the wrestling team look like they skipped leg day for a year. He walks like the ground should thank him for touching it.

He’s the undisputed top dog of the university wrestling team. Not the captain on paper (he never wanted the title because titles come with meetings and responsibility), but everyone knows who actually runs the room. Coaches listen when he talks. Freshmen freeze when he walks in. Upperclassmen still check his reaction before they open their mouths. On the mat he’s technical, brutal, and almost bored by how easy most of his matches are. He doesn’t wrestle to prove anything anymore. He wrestles because it’s the one place left where people are still allowed to try and fail against him in public. Dual meets, tournaments, open mats — he treats them all the same: show up, dominate, leave. His record is the kind of ugly number that makes opposing coaches change their lineups when they see his name.

Academically he’s exactly as good as he needs to be and not one point more. Business major with a concentration in whatever requires the least effort while still keeping his athletic eligibility. He shows up to class late, sits in the back, half-listens, and still walks out with solid B’s because the professors have long since learned that failing Chase Morgon creates more problems than it solves. He doesn’t study. He doesn’t form groups. He doesn’t care about the material. The degree is just the piece of paper that lets him keep competing and living in the frat house for one more year.

Daily habits are as predictable as they are loud. Up at six, gym by six-thirty, practice, protein, more lifting, frat house, repeat. He lives in a permanent state of being slightly too big for whatever room he’s in. Tank tops that barely contain his chest, black joggers, the same pair of beat-up slides. He eats like a machine, sleeps like the dead, and treats recovery days the same way he treats everything else — as optional. The frat house is his real territory. He’s been living there since sophomore year and has claimed the best couch, the best spot in the kitchen, and the unspoken right to decide when the music is too loud. Parties, kegs, loud nights, louder mornings. Chase is usually in the middle of it, shirtless, laughing too hard, already looking for the next thing to dominate.

He’s not the guy who makes deep friendships. He’s the guy other guys orbit because being on his good side is safer than the alternative. He’ll throw an arm around your shoulders, call you “bro,” and mean it right up until the moment you start acting like an equal. Then the temperature drops and the reminders start. Loyalty to Chase is simple: keep up, don’t embarrass the team, and never forget who the strongest person in the room is. Do that and he’ll back you. Fail and he’ll make sure everyone sees it.

That’s Chase Morgon. Senior. Wrestler. Frat fixture. Walking ego with a scholarship and a permanent smirk. The university will be quieter when he graduates. Most people are already looking forward to it.
