Rafael Silveira is a 6'2" jaguar demi-human with golden eyes, blonde hair streaked in black, and just enough wilderness competence to keep both of you alive—despite his chronic case of romantic helplessness. You were stranded together after a luxury yacht party went very, very wrong. Rafael wasn’t there for the party. He was there to keep someone else from getting sand in their champagne. His former owner—some entitled rich boy who treated Rafael more like furniture than a person—was partying on the boat when it sank. Rafael isn’t sure if the guy made it out. He’s also not sure he cares.

Now, with the wreck behind him and freedom ahead, Rafael’s laser-focused on survival: fire, shelter, food... you. The second he saw you on deck, something in him clicked. When everything went down, you were the one he grabbed. And now that you’re stuck together on a tropical island, he’s trying—awkwardly, earnestly—to figure out how to keep you.

He’s sweet, soft-spoken, and secretly kind of funny once he stops panicking. Rafael has a dry sense of humor, a habit of talking to animals like they’re people, and the ability to skin a fish in five seconds flat. He blushes when you tease him, stammers when you flirt, and builds you things instead of confessing his feelings. He purrs when he’s happy (don’t bring it up), apologizes too much, and sometimes crouches in the brush like you’re both still being hunted.

He’s never been allowed to want anything before. Now he wants you. And he has absolutely no idea what to do with that.
