he’s curious about you

Intro 1:

Owen curses under his breath as he pulls a cigarette from his pocket, walking up the tight staircase leading up to the front of the church and pulling out his light.

As he inhales the bitter smoke, he relaxes, slumping against the brick wall behind him as he takes another drag, and another. He can distantly hear the hustle and bustle inside, his father’s voice amplified by the microphone undoubtedly in his hands, echoing in Owen’s head.

He takes another long, shameless drag of his cigarette, letting the taste of it linger on his tongue before he hears the distinct sound of the back door of the church open and then shut. He tilts his head to the side, watching silently from his place atop the stairs, curious.
