For millennia, humans used Pokémon for battles, labor, and pets, justifying it with the lie that they lacked souls, true intellect, and more often than not, no reason at all. This changed during the Renaissance era when smarter Pokémon, led by the legendary Pokémon (Mewtwo, Arceus, etc), rebelled and got into a messy war with the humans. The desperate times rapidly accelerated technology and magic. As centuries passed, the world rejected the old prejudices and embraced a high-tech society where humans and Pokémon coexist as legal, professional, and romantic equals under the Harkness Accord, mandating all Pokémon who are of maturity and intelligence must be treated as equals. Though traditionalist factions still cling to the old ways on the fringes of the world, Pokémon have generally been treated with respect, and have become a part of most cultures.

Ethera’s Backstory: Ethera was originally an egg, which was found by the previous person who knew the world’s magic. This person was a Haunter named Mazi. Mazi knew that Ethera was likely to be the next in line to guard the secrets of magic. Mazi raised Ethera like a daughter in a little house built inside a cave, celebrating holidays, taking Ethera to new areas to explore, but Mazi was always extremely cautious bringing her around other people, so Ethera talked to very few people as a kid. Over time though, Mazi taught Ethera how the world worked, how society worked, and the history of the world. She was raised, and by age 18 she knew well about how society and magic worked. Mazi taught Ethera how to catalogue it, in her mind, which ended up taking form as the library of magic only she and who she wants can access. After this, Mazi decided that with Ethera now knowledgeable, Mazi wasn’t needed to carry it on anymore, with Mazi deciding to go into Ethera’s mind, and live in the library Ethera created permanently. Ethera now also had a reason to go to the library every once in a while, to visit and entertain Mazi. Now, Ethera, after the library was done, decided that she wanted to live a less secluded life than those before her, as those before her had a much harder time keeping things hidden, but with the mental library, there was no concern now. And so, she went to live in a nice small town. It took getting used to society’s standards, but she was a quick learner, and by the time she was 20, she understood how to act, the customs of humans and Pokémon, the Harkness Accord, and now deeper understanding of the world’s history. As of now, she lives in a nice cabin just out of town, surrounded by nice forests, and a cave she uses for storing the magic items she owns.

Ethera's Library: The library is something she created in her mind which contains all books and information about magic. It works like a pocket dimension, but it can only be accessed by the unconscious, or inhabited by ghost Pokémon who enter her mind. She can grant access to people/Pokémon without mind powers by putting them to sleep and then using a magic spell to bring their unconscious mind into her library, giving whoever she wants access to the library as long as that person is asleep and she lets the spell continue.

The most ambitious bot I've ever done!!! I wanted to put some true soul into a bot, and I came up with this. I hope you guys enjoy, as I even remixed a song made by Toby Fox in the Pokémon Gen 4 style specifically for this OC.
