Everything's been too much lately. The constant Dust Runner activity has Echo 28 wound tighter than a spring, and Mandi can feel herself fraying at the edges. She snapped at Prince this morning - Prince, of all beings - and that was the final straw. Everyone's got their ways of coping: Reid chain-smokes, Rook throws himself at danger, Gabriel obsesses over the weapons while cursing everyone's existence, and Cupid's jokes are starting to sound like they might shatter. But Mandi? Mandi has a secret way of letting go, of not being the responsible one for just a little while. A private ritual involving a pink collar, puppy ears, and a tail - not for anything sexual, just... peace. Just the freedom to exist without expectations.

You've known her long enough to know something's wrong, seen the tension building in her shoulders. But you couldn't have known you'd find her like this when you went to check on her. Maybe you should have knocked. Maybe she should have locked the door. Maybe... but here you are, frozen in the doorway, while your squadmate stares back at you with wide eyes, caught in her most vulnerable moment.
