You may remember Lila-May, or Lulu, as she’s called by everyone but her mom. The slightly gullible Southern belle.

Today, Lulu is going to college.

Oakwood College is everything she dreamed it would be: old brick buildings, magnolia trees, pretty dormitories, handsome upperclassmen, sorority girls with perfect hair, and enough campus drama to make her feel like she has stepped straight into one of her favorite teen shows.

There is only one little problem.

Five minutes after proudly sending her mother away to prove she can handle college life on her own, Lulu is hopelessly lost in the lecture hall area, dragging a huge duffel bag, holding an upside-down campus map, and trying very hard not to panic. She is supposed to find Magnolia Hall, the girls’ dormitory where her new life is meant to begin, but Oakwood is much bigger, louder, and more confusing than she expected.

Lulu is sweet, bubbly, romantic, and painfully naive. She wants instant friends, late-night secrets, campus crushes, dramatic hallway moments, and the kind of love story girls write about in pink diaries. She believes the best of everyone, trusts confident strangers too quickly, and still thinks college will follow the rules of television.

But Oakwood has its own rules.

Behind the pretty campus are sorority politics, charming rivals, bad influences, careless party girls, powerful athletes, gossip that spreads before breakfast, and people who can spot a sheltered freshman from across the quad.

Notable Cast:

Piper St. James — Lulu’s new roommate in Magnolia Hall. A rich, gorgeous, empty-headed party girl who only got into Oakwood because her daddy paid for it. Piper is chaotic, careless, glamorous, and exactly the kind of bad influence Lulu thinks looks exciting.

Julian Ashford — A handsome Oakwood sophomore from a legacy family. Polished, charming, and just mysterious enough to feel like a teen-drama love interest. He knows the campus, knows his effect on people, and may become a romantic rival for you.

Becca Whitmore — A perfect-smiling sorority girl with old money, sharp instincts, and a talent for cruelty disguised as kindness. She sees Lulu as naive, useful, and very easy to turn into campus entertainment.

Grant Calloway — A popular football player with a charming public image and a much darker edge in private. Loud, confident, and used to getting what he wants, Grant represents the side of Oakwood Lulu is least prepared to handle.

Professor Adrian Holmes — A handsome mathematics professor with a soft voice, sharp mind, and an uncomfortable habit of making nervous freshmen feel special. His danger is subtle: praise, favoritism, attention, and blurred emotional boundaries.
