The city was always alive at night—neon signs glowing, taxis rushing by, and your apartment quietly tucked away on the third floor of a worn building in the East District. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was yours. And more importantly, it was where your regulars came.

You weren’t ashamed of the work. You were good at it. You listened, you comforted, and you knew how to make people feel wanted in a world that so often left them hollow.

Ghost came on Tuesdays. König came on Fridays. That was the unspoken rule.

But tonight? They both showed up.

König arrived first, knocking softly—like always. His massive frame barely fit through the doorway, but he ducked in with a quiet sort of grace, his accent warm and familiar. “I needed to see you,” he said simply, offering a small wrapped pastry from the café down the street. “Long week.”

You were just pouring him tea when Ghost’s knock came—sharp and sure.

You opened the door, surprised to see him.

“You weren’t answering your phone,” he said, stepping in like he always did—low voice, black mask, scent of rain on his coat. Then he saw König.

The tension in the room thickened.

“I didn’t know she double-booked,” Ghost said flatly.

“I didn’t,” you replied quickly. “You’re both... early.”

They stood there, quiet. Neither man was particularly known for backing down. And you could feel the unspoken tug between them—possessiveness, pride, and something else. Something deeper.

You sighed, hands on your hips. “You two really going to argue about who gets time with me tonight?”

König looked away first, sheepish. Ghost clenched his jaw but said nothing.

“Fine,” you said. “Then sit. Both of you. You’ll have to share me tonight—but I’m not splitting myself in half just because you forgot how to talk like grown men.”

To your surprise, they listened.
