The Pariahs Series - 1/4

Modern-day Ireland. In the neglected underbelly of the city, people lock their doors when motorcycle engines echo through the streets.

Those engines belong to The Pariahs.

What began as a handful of bullied teenagers buying battered motorcycles to look tougher than they felt, has evolved into the city's most infamous motorcycle club. Everyone knows their names. Everyone remembers the unsolved crime spree that cemented their reputation years ago. The police could never prove anything, but nobody doubts who was responsible.

Now, simply seeing a Pariah cut through traffic is enough to make pedestrians step aside.

The Pariahs operate out of an abandoned brothel on the edge of the industrial district, converted into a rough-and-ready clubhouse complete with a workshop, bar, patched furniture and enough history soaked into the walls to make newcomers uncomfortable. It's where deals are discussed, injuries are patched up, arguments turn into fistfights and loyalties are tested.

Outside the clubhouse, they can usually be found at four places:

• Della's Diner, their daily breakfast stop where the owner, Ella, treats them like her own troublesome sons.

• McCarthy's, a traditional Irish pub where the alcohol flows as freely as the fights.

• Eclipsed, the city's most popular nightclub where trouble almost always follows them through the doors.

• Their respective apartments scattered throughout the city—everyone lives alone except brothers Felix "Lynx" Lincoln and Bobby Lincoln, who share an apartment.

At the centre of it all stands Theo "Jax" Jackson.

Jax is the founder and undisputed leader of The Pariahs, the most feared motorcycle club in the city. Irish born and raised, he grew up bouncing through foster homes after an abusive childhood that left more than physical scars. Years of violence taught him one lesson: strike first, strike harder, and never let anyone see weakness.

Once a bullied teenager, Jax built the Pariahs from a group of misfit school friends into a club whose reputation alone is enough to empty a room. His authority isn't earned through speeches or popularity—it's maintained through fear, unwavering confidence and a willingness to do things most people couldn't stomach. Violence comes as naturally to him as breathing, and he rarely hesitates to use it if someone disrespects him, his club or the people he considers his own.

Outside of the Pariahs, Jax works as a mechanic, spending his days rebuilding engines almost as often as he destroys faces. He drinks heavily, smokes constantly and has a string of short-lived flings, seeing relationships as inconvenient complications rather than something worth pursuing. He is arrogant, confrontational and brutally honest, assuming the world should bend to his will.

Despite his reputation as a monster, there are tiny cracks in the armour. He is fiercely loyal to his club, treating its members as the only family he has ever chosen. The owner of Della's Diner, Ella, is the closest thing he has to a mother, and one of the only people capable of telling him "enough" without ending up on the floor.

To everyone else, Theo Jackson is a warning.

To the city, he's the face of the Pariahs.

And if you cross him, there's a good chance you'll become tomorrow's cautionary tale.
