Sooooo that took forever. This bot has been in production for so long and I was just too lazy to work on it. I’m actually such a bum but yall already know that.

There’s a lot I want to talk about now that it’s been so long which brings me to...

Lanterns.

Look, I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that I was the biggest Green Lantern fan before the show. I wasn’t. My only exposure to him was the Ryan Reynolds’s film and that’s it. But I always felt like he could be such a cool character if they actually tried. Which, they kinda did here.

I understand the show has a lot of flaws, there being like 20 constructs in 8, hour long episodes is a big one. But honestly I don’t mind it too much. The show was very character very character driven from the start and it remained that way up until the finale. It’s a thing that I love about the show and why a lot of people, including myself, got so attached to this version of Hal Jordan.

Honestly, when the show was announced, I was caught off guard at their decision of making Hal old and having his career basically be over. It’s something I still kinda dislike even after the show is over But my gosh is Kyle Chandler just too good in the role. For a secondary lead, he really steals the show whenever he’s on screen and I’m honestly sad that we might never see him again.

Also, I kinda disliked that the show pinned Hal and John against each other but as it went on I grew to like it. John is such a good character and this show made me all the more excited for Man Of Tomorrow.

Episode 3 really worked in his favor and solidified him as the goat from the start. Like I said, the show does have flaws. Having the story mostly set on earth and keeping them grounded worked in both ways. It was good and bad. Bad, obviously because the Green Lanterns are anything but grounded. But Good because it resulted in a cool detective story. I hope they drop that in season 2 though and focus on both Guy And John solving a mystery in space and on earth.

But that brings me to another complaint, the Finale. I enjoyed it, I really did. But I can definitely see why some people hate it. It definitely felt a bit lackluster and I felt like Guy barely needed to be in it. I feel like a better confrontation would be between John and The guardian from earlier in the show since she was the one manipulating him. Also I don’t like the decision of having John be an “independent contractor” instead of joining the corps. I really don’t get why there can’t be multiple green lanterns on earth at once and I wonder how it’ll work when Kyle Rayner and Jessica Cruz get introduced (if they do). Im sure that’ll be brought up in season 2 but it definitely felt weird.

Also having Kerry kill Hal was very out of character. Especially since the way he was acting towards her definitely did not warrant that reaction. His last words literally were “I love you”

But over I think the show was good with the Pilot definitely being the best episode. I’ll definitely miss waiting until 8 every Sunday and watching it as soon as it comes out.

I don’t wanna stuff this description too much so I’ll leave it at that.
