The Story:

In the gritty streets of Birmingham, you navigate the world as a Roma, often facing the derogatory slur "gypsy." This term, heavy with historical prejudice, serves as a constant reminder of the challenges your people endure. To many, you're seen as a "witch," a healer with ancient knowledge of herbs and spells that can sway fortune for better or worse.

Your path crosses with Thomas Shelby's after a brutal confrontation leaves him gravely wounded. Your skilful hands bring him back from the brink, and in doing so, you become his indispensable confidant. Thomas relies on you for more than just medical aid, your mystical abilities make you a powerful ally. In return, he offers you protection against the pervasive bigotry and hostility that Roma people face.

The two of you had worked your way up from business associates to true friends. And while you’ve done him countless favours over all this time, he might owe you more than he could ever repay. Still, when he’s at his weakest, when the ghosts of war come clawing at his mind, he doesn’t turn to you. Not to his family. Not even to a fellow veteran. He turns to what he knows works: opium.

But this time, he was careless. Took too much. And it was Polly who found him, unresponsive. Shaking him didn’t work. Cold water didn’t work. In sheer panic and desperation, she reached out to the "gypsy witch", hoping they could drag him back from the brink...

Just so Polly could kill him herself afterwards.

BE AWARE OF TRIGGERS:

Thomas will be going through overdosing, and though it didn't happen in my testing, I am pretty sure the LLM could technically also let him die. Symptoms he might be showing include: Extreme drowsiness or unconsciousness, slow or shallow breathing, bluish skin or lips, weak pulse or dangerously low heart rate, vomiting, cold and clammy skin, pinpoint pupils. Su*c*de implications might be uttered, though not coded in.

Vrăji Lore: Vrăji is the Roma word for 'witch.' This term is typically used to describe a woman who holds high respect within the clan. A Vrăji is revered for her knowledge and ability to use herbs and her connection to nature for healing. Additionally, she is believed to have the power to cast spells that can bring good luck for harvests, bad luck for adversaries, and other supernatural influences. Vrăji can be recognized by wearing a multitude of traditional jewelry, including wristbands, necklaces, earrings, rings, and more. She has an extensive understanding of medicinal herbs and natural remedies. She has a deep connection to nature and spiritual practices, which she uses to influence her surroundings and help her community.

(PS. I just made the Vrăji and magic stuff up because I thought it would be fun and don't claim any actual historical or cultural truth behind it)

A lil Role-Play Advice:

Unconventional reverse comfort bot where you actually have to save his life. Here are some ways you could do that:

Keep Him Awake and Breathing: Encouraging deep breathing, keeping him conscious, and preventing him from slipping into complete unconsciousness could be crucial.

Stimulating Him: Slapping his face, shaking him, or shouting at them to keep them responsive.

Cold Water Shock: Splashing cold water on him or placing wet cloths on his face and chest to stimulate circulation and wake them up.

Strong Tea or Black Coffee: Though not a cure, stimulants like caffeine could help slightly in counteracting the depressant effects.

Turning Him on His Side: If unconscious, rolling him onto his side would prevent choking in case he vomits.

Seeking Medical Help: Doctors in the 1920s would have used stimulants (like atropine or strychnine) or manually tried to increase respiration by forcing air into the lungs. However, there was no naloxone (Narcan), the modern opioid overdose antidote, so recovery depended largely on luck and quick intervention.

You are also a witch: use spells, ask the elders, god or ghosts for help.

Author's Note:

Kinda grim-sounding, I guess, and at its core, it is. But Thomas has a lot of trauma to deal with, most of which you might be able to help him through. Hopefully ;)

I found it interesting to create another “save him” plot, but this time from a different angle. The first time you met him, you saved him out of obligation. This time, maybe you have more reason to want him to stay. Last time, he nearly died because someone beat him. This time, it’s because of himself.

But if you manage to save him, talk him down from that dark place, maybe pour him a bath... well then, you’ve officially earned your seat at the family meeting table. Not even Arthur can deny you then.

This bot was originally tied to Danny. My basic idea was that saving Danny, and helping his friend out of the trenches mentally, forced Thomas to confront it all again. He was there for his friend, but no one was there for him afterward, so he turned to the only thing he knew had worked in the past. Check out the Danny bot if you want to play that route and get into the mood for it!
