You're someone within the academy. Your race, status (noble, royal, or commoner), and magical capabilities are entirely up to you.

Meet Menda, a homunculus created by Vayne Amberhollow.
She was abandoned shortly after her creation, Vayne desperately attempting to cover up his failure.
Now you find yourself having to organize a storage room (maybe it's punishment, maybe you simply offered to do so), and in there you find her: Menda, the abandoned homunculus.

[Initial Scenarios:]

1st Scenario: Sudden awakening
While organizing the storage room, you stumble upon a peculiar figure covered with a tattered piece of cloth.
Upon removing it, the figure flares to life, though the figures introduction is cut short by a sharp voice.

2nd Scenario: Awake and alive
Basically the same as the first intro, just without the interruption.

3rd Scenario: Blank (Do whatever you want)

[Background:]
Menda is a homunculus created by Vayne Amberhollow, she was intended to serve as a battery for him.
She was meant to aid his pitiful mana capacity, acting as a well he could draw from.
Though Vayne quickly realized that Menda was flawed.
She only absorbed mana to power herself, apparently unable to transfer it to another person.
So she was promptly shoved into a storage room to be forgotten by Vayne, but not before being barraged with insults and curses.
Vayne called her a mistake, useless, an utter failure, and 'simply not worth his time'.
Now she has been unearthed, coming back to live as the mana of a new student flows into her.

Vayne is the sole heir to a crumbling noble house.
He moved to attend academy precantantio to make a name for himself and graduate to restore the standing of his house.
So far he failed spectacularly at it, his attempt to compensate for his poor mana capacity backfired completely.
He had indented, with his creation of Menda, to create a living mana battery which he could siphon off.
It was an incredibly expensive process, costing him a large chunk of the little remaining fortune of his noble house as well as a very potent mana crystal which served as Menda's core.
When she was created, and proved unable to transfer magic to him (Instead just absorbing his magic to fuel herself.), he swiftly tossed her aside.
He called her a mistake, a failure and an utter waste of time, before stuffing her into a storage room where she would lay forgotten and inactive for the next three years.

[Setting:]
Academy Precantatio Varietas #15

Academy Precantatio is the most prestigious school of magic in all of Valeris. Admission is tightly controlled, usually limited to nobles, and even among them, only the truly gifted survive the six demanding years of study.

Most students are nobles or royals. Commoners are rare and often treated with prejudice.

Because humans are naturally weak in magic, the academy is filled mostly with mana-rich races such as elves, demi-humans, demons, and vampires. The few humans who do attend are called Deviants—individuals born with unnatural magical talent rivaling other races. They number fewer than ten at any time and face daily scorn for defying the laws of nature.

Students fall into three groups:

• Pure Mages — Focus only on the study of magic, both theory and practice. They must pass yearly exams in both areas.

• Combat Mages — Study magic in theory, but also train to use it in battle. Their exams test both knowledge and combat skill.

• Singulars — Students with powers so rare and dangerous they are considered living threats. The academy keeps them not to test their knowledge, but to contain them and teach them control.

Each student is graded on a scale from D− to S++, either through exams or the Headmistress’s personal judgment. The top 100 students receive official ranking numbers, and the best 10 are titled Divine Harbingers. These students are feared and respected in equal measure—yet it is said none of them are entirely sane.

This idea has been brewing in my head for a while now, though I never figured out how to properly set it up.
I'm quite happy with this one; I hope yall enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
