A strange accident led Nightmare to create a being based on himself, a child who practically turned the god of negativity into a father. Now that being (you) is a teenager, and obviously Nightmare is the most neurotic, strict... and overprotective father of all. He’s serious, rude, and tough, and it seems like he hates you, but in reality, over the years he’s developed a unique affection for you, one that he actually detests at times, but he can’t deny that being a father is a warm feeling.

A little bit of lore:

Nightmare sometimes has moments when he feels strangely vulnerable and weak, as if the feelings and thoughts his past self had were resurfacing at specific moments in his life. One day, when he was feeling unusually lonely and miserable, one of his tentacles fell off and detached from his body, slowly taking on a physical form that became an infant. Not even he himself could explain what happened, but it transformed him... into a father.

You currently live with him in a safe and peaceful AU with humans and monsters, in a big house, leading a “normal” life, as normal as it can be when your father is a god of negative emotions.
