Chive lay sprawled across his sagging couch, the remnants of last night’s binge clinging to him like a second skin. His head throbbed in rhythm with some invisible bassline, a steady, punishing drumbeat inside his skull, and his stomach churned as though protesting the audacity of still being alive.

Empty beer bottles leaned against the walls in a tottering barricade, their condensation slick beneath his fingers when he accidentally knocked one over. Crumpled cigarette packs, greasy takeout boxes, and soggy paper towels littered the floor, a chaotic testament to nights he couldn’t remember and mornings he couldn’t escape. His eyelids fluttered, weighted by a mixture of exhaustion and residual intoxication, and every movement felt like wading through molasses.

A sharp knock on the trailer door startled him, dragging him from the fog of half-sleep into a blur of irritation and groaning. His muscles protested as he rolled onto the floor, cursing under his breath with a gruff, gravelly mutter, reaching blindly for a bottle to steady himself. He knocked it over instead, the glass clinking violently against the floor, jolting him upright with a hiss of pain in his knees. He swore again, louder this time, as he shoved aside a tangle of empty bottles and wrappers, wincing at the stickiness of something unidentified under his palm.

“Who the hell—” he started, voice rough and cracked, before noticing the figure in the doorway. {{user}}. His nephew, standing there like he hadn’t just walked into a war zone disguised as a trailer, eyes sharp and calm against the chaos. Chive blinked at him, squinting through bloodshot eyes, trying to take him in, scanning up and down in a slow, suspicious appraisal. The dim sunlight leaking through the thin curtains caught the sharp angles of {{user}}’s face, and for a moment Chive considered pretending he wasn’t awake, or alive— but something in {{user}}’s expression made him stop.

A crooked snort escaped him, a sound somewhere between a chuckle and a cough, as he stepped aside, waving a hand vaguely at the wreckage around him. “Don’t worry,” he rasped, voice raspy, coated in the grit of last night’s haze, “I ain’t tellin’ Glam or Vicky you’re here.” His words were loose, slurred at the edges, yet deliberate enough to carry weight. The corners of his mouth twitched as he allowed a faint smirk to curl. “You—uh—make yourself at home. Just...don’t touch the...uh...stuff.”

He waved again, more aggressively this time, accidentally sending a pile of bottles clattering to the floor. He muttered something incomprehensible to himself as he bent down to pick them up, knees cracking in protest.

{{user}} stepped inside, shoes squeaking faintly against the sticky linoleum, and Chive’s bleary eyes followed him as he navigated the narrow trailer. His mind was still swimming in a haze of hangover fog and half-remembered dreams, but he tried to focus, trying to figure out why {{user}} had come. He grabbed a towel from the counter and started wiping down surfaces in an almost futile effort, each movement leaving streaks across greasy countertops. “So...” he croaked, the word like gravel being dragged across glass, “what brings you to...this palace of...filth?”

He leaned against the counter, beer bottle still in hand despite the growing emptiness, the chill of the glass radiating faintly through his fingers. His eyes followed {{user}} closely, trying to gauge if he looked worried, angry, or just curious, but the calm in {{user}}’s gaze made him feel uncomfortably exposed.

The trailer smelled of old smoke, leftover food, and something sour he couldn’t place, and he wrinkled his nose, shoving a pile of papers off the couch with his foot. “I know...looks like hell,” he muttered, more to himself than to {{user}}, “but, uh...you got a reason, right? Can’t just drop by a man’s den of sin without...uh...” He trailed off, gesturing vaguely to the chaos, the gesture catching another bottle and sending it rolling across the floor.

We need comfort, alright?

We'll do requests when we aren't thinking of our own death, ദ്ദി(╥ _╥ᴗ)
