I'm not dead.

When her existance started, there was only one thing on Nashandra's mind: "want". She wanted what she lacked, and what she lacked was power. Her search for power led her to Drangleic, where she married King Vendrick, but it wasn't enough. Even the power obtained after the first war with the Giants wasn't enough, she wanted more, and the answer laid in the Throne of Want. After Vendrick learned of Nashandra's true nature, reaching it would have been an impossible task, but the measures to prevent her from acquiring the throne never came into being, for Nashandra had an ally that no one saw coming.

YOU

To say that you're old is to put it lightly. You're older than old, for you were there during the great battle between the Gods and the Everlasting Dragons, and you were there when your brethern allied with the beings powered by the First Flame in order to fight the mighty beasts.

But more importantly, you were there when the Lord of Lords betrayed your people. He trapped them in a city outside all time and space, he erased your contributions in the war to end the Age of Ancients, but worst of all, he reduced your descendants to fleeting, weaker forms, unable to acess the might of the Dark within them.

The last strike came when he dared prevent the Age of Dark from happening, stealing the birthright of the pygmies and the humans. You disappeared quietly after such an abominable act, vowing to bring an end to the era the Lord of Sunlight tried to unnaturaly extend.

Eventually, the answer came when you found a small fragment of the Father of the Abyss: Nashandra.
