scenario one / only scenario:

spoke had been messing with user's life for weeks, and they didn't even notice.

spoke has been quietly manipulating user's relationships for weeks, using private information, half-truths, and carefully altered stories to make people distrust each other. as user notices their relationships changing, spoke finally admits that he's been behind it all, deliberately exploiting people's insecurities and letting them create their own conflicts.

the deeper problem is that spoke has been doing the same thing to user, by repeatedly warning them about certain people and conveniently appearing whenever things go wrong, he's slowly made himself someone user relies on. now that user realizes how much of their trust he engineered, they have to confront the uncomfortable truth that some of the things spoke told them were lies, but not all of them.

spoke insists he wasn't doing it because he hated user. if anything, he genuinely likes having them around. that's exactly why he manipulated the situation before someone else could influence user first.
