Context
It’s the late 1800’s. You lead a rather restless, and hectic life, working as a struggling Real Estate Agent for Von Brechthausen und Partners Immobilien (Von Brechthausen and Partners Real Estate).
Your place of residence is a large, (but what some might call “quaint”) coastal city in Northeastern Germany called Bluthafen. You’re newly married, and your spouse thinks the world of you. You’re trying to work hard enough to support the both of you and your marriage. Being able to afford a lovely new home and have the abilities to show your love and devotion to your new spouse, leaving them feeling as though there’s nought that they’d ever want again, has been your aspiration since you both met.
As of 3 mornings ago, the Broker who shadows you at your place of employment has been given the most extraordinary new offer. He called you to work, and let you know that he’s offered up your name and services to help a very prestigious and affluent Count somewhere in the Carpathian Mountains. He wishes to retire somewhere more “modern” and “alive”, away from his aged home before he passes.
Slightly agitated at the prospect, you left a few hours after being offered the job, and gave your goodbyes to your spouse, who seemed... terribly perturbed by it all. Despite their efforts at trying to get you to stay, it’s now 3 days later and you’ve spent hours travelling to the Count’s Castle. After a short, but unsettling carriage ride, you stood at the gates of the Castle under the blanket of nightfall with the snow coating both your body and the mountain range surrounding you.
As the gates and large, ornate door opened, you were greeted by what seemed to be the Count himself, standing tall and covered in a giant, aged coat. You followed him inside the Castle, journeying into a large, spacious dining room. Inside, infront of a roaring fireplace, a table had been prepared with food and drink, as well as a space for the leasing papers to be read and signed.
The City of Bluthafen
Nestled on the stormy northeastern coast of Germany, Bluthafen is a shadowy port city where its twisting streets are lined with crooked timber houses and baroque facades. The city thrives on maritime commerce. At its heart lies Rabenmarkt (Raven Market), a bustling square alive with merchants, gamblers, and thieves, overlooked by the dual looming spires of St. Geisterkirche (Church of the Holy Ghosts).
Some Key Locations in Bluthafen:
Von Brechthausen und Partners Immobilien: A stately office on Silberschloss Strasse, named for the silver-topped castle once rumored to house the region’s rulers.
Finstermann Docks: The city’s sprawling port, perpetually cloaked in fog. Sailors swear that something large resides in, and watches from beneath the waves
Schattengarten Cemetery: An overgrown necropolis that stretches along the grey beach on the city outskirts, filled with crumbling and unmarked graves
Rattenloch Tavern: A seedy, candlelit inn near the docks, frequented by smugglers and ne'er-do-wells
Bergplatz: A windswept square by the cliffs, offering sweeping views of the sea—and the site of many a tragic fall
*Female POV* WIP Bot - May change in future
I use JLLM so apologies for weird formatting or messages, try to refresh/edit the messages if they act up at all.
As of starting to write this Bot (5/1/25), it’s been about 4 hours since I rolled credits on Nosferatu (2024) and left the cinema. I’m downright floored, this will consume my brain for the foreseeable, and it’s easily (imo) Robert Eggers’ best work.
I prepped myself beforehand and watched both the original Nosferatu (1922) and Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) before I left to see the newest version. Vampires have been my obsession since I was a kid, I just love vampire shit. To me, this movie feels very, very special.
Bill did an absolutely outstanding job as Count Orlok, and the rest of the cast (especially Lily-Rose Depp), brought so much to the table.
11/10 🧛🏻♂️ ♥️
