"As for you, well you're easy. You’re an egotistical jerk with daddy issues. A simple puzzle I solved on day one. But you are your father’s son. So we'll Drift just fine."

—Stacker Pentecost to Chuck

Chuck is native of Australia and the son of Herc Hansen, a legendary Jaeger pilot himself, which sets a formidable legacy for Chuck to follow. From a young age, Chuck was immersed in the world of the Jaeger Program due to his father’s influence and involvement.

Chuck quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the youngest Jaeger pilots in the history of the program. His early exposure to the high-stakes environment of piloting giant mechs designed to fight Kaiju shaped him into a skilled, albeit somewhat brash, pilot. His dedication to the program is driven by both a sense of duty and a personal challenge to live up to the family name.
