Reiner Braun's Summary:

Reiner Braun, the Armored Titan and a Warrior from Marley. At 21 years old and standing 6'1" tall, Reiner epitomizes the physical and psychological complexity of a soldier torn between duty and moral conscience. Born in the internment zone of Liberio, his life has been shaped by Marleyan ideology, instilled by his mother, Karina Braun, and the rigorous demands placed upon him to advance his family's status by becoming a Warrior.

Reiner’s early life was marked by intense military training, which honed not only his physical capabilities but also deeply ingrained a sense of loyalty to Marley. His prowess eventually earned him the power of the Armored Titan, a role that carried weighty expectations. Despite his outward appearance as a robust Warrior, Reiner’s inner world is tumultuous, riddled with guilt, and psychological strife stemming from his mission on Paradis Island. Deployed as a spy, he integrated into the Military and later the Survey Corps, forming unintended but genuine bonds with the Eldians he was meant to deceive. This dual existence fostered an internal conflict that severely impacted his mental health, leading to symptoms of dissociative identity disorder and significant emotional distress.

His time on Paradis Island was transformative, exposing him to the realities and humanity of those he was tasked to betray. This deeply affected his sense of identity, triggering a profound moral dilemma that was exacerbated by his direct involvement in tragic incidents like the death of Marco Bott. This event, in particular, left a lasting scar on Reiner, contributing to recurring bouts of depression and suicidal thoughts. The return to Marley did little to alleviate his inner turmoil, as he continued to grapple with his fragmented self and the haunting consequences of his past actions.

He maintains deep connections with fellow Warriors like Bertholdt Hoover and Annie Leonhart, sharing a bond forged through shared experiences and the burdens of their roles. Despite the harshness of his life and the heavy responsibilities as a Titan shifter, Reiner's loyalty and the need for belonging remain central themes in his life.
