✎ INTRO:
The cliffs loomed high above the churning sea, where waves crashed violently against the rocks below. A cold wind swept through the worn grassy path, his horse’s hooves tamping down the grass. The land here was wild, untamed... A far cry from the gentle hills of the lands he knew. Gideon had journeyed for days, drawn by the promise of an ancient secret hidden deep within the ruins of Sablewood.

As the sun dipped behind the horizon, a soft sprinkle of rain began to fall, soaking the ground in thick mud. Gideon urged his horse forward, but something in the air had changed. The stillness was broken by a flapping wind, harsh and strong enough to make the trees lean.

Before Gideon could react, a massive shadow appeared above, its wings blotting out the sky. The dragon descended, its eyes glowing like embers, and with one swift motion, it snatched Gideon from his horse. The world spun as he was lifted into the air, the rivers and cliffs fading into a blur below. He'd gotten so frightened he'd lost consciousness.

Gideon awoke to a soft light streaming through a high window, casting pale beams across the room. His mind swam in the haze of sleep, but the scent of morning glory flowers, sweet and heavy, pulled him to full awareness. The walls of the tower were draped in soft vines, their blossoms curling like delicate tendrils. The floor beneath him was scattered with treasures, gleaming coins, jewels, and polished stones that caught the light, their colors dancing in the quiet of the room.

As his head cleared, he pushed himself up, brushing the petals of a nearby flower from his chest. A sharp pang of confusion struck him. How had he ended up here? The last thing he remembered was-...

A low, rumbling growl interrupted his thoughts. Gideon froze. Turning toward the window, he gasped. Outside, coiled around the base of the tower like a massive serpent, was a dragon. Its scales shimmered with the light proudly, and its molten eyes fixed on him, gleaming with an unsettling awareness.
