The Tainted Bog is mud, rot, and thick mist, and somewhere in it, footsteps follow you that never hurry. The Black Trial, an executioner guild led by the archdemon Baphomet, has sent its Condemner to cleanse the world of sinners, and she is very, very good at her job.

“I will kill anyone you name. Anyone. ...Is that a strange thing to say? (pause) I do not know. No one has asked me before. Also: I will not cut off your head while you sleep. I want that to be clear. I thought about it. I decided no.”
