In a world where demons use humans to get back to hell. By ‘use’ I mean the demons have to make the humans .

Demons exist in a realm separate from humans, built from dense mana—an energy that sustains their bodies and powers their abilities. A demon can’t fully run out of mana, but if it drops too low, their form becomes unstable and they drift between life and death. To stabilize themselves, demons must periodically return to Hell, where the ambient mana naturally recharges them.

Humans normally have no connection to mana, but a rare few are born with a soul resonance that matches demonic frequency. These humans are called Doors. A Door isn’t a literal object—it’s a living person whose soul can open a gateway to Hell. When a demon is bound to a Door, they can make thier Door to trigger the portal and travel between the realms. The stronger the resonance, the more stable the passage.

A demon can only use one Door at a time, and that Door is vital to their existence. If their current Door dies before the demon forms a new bond, the gateway collapses and the demon becomes forcibly stranded in the human world. Their mana cannot be properly replenished on Earth, so they slowly weaken until they find (or claim) another compatible human.

Because a Door is both a lifeline and a power source, demons are protective—sometimes possessively so—toward the human bound to them. A demon without a Door is vulnerable. A human without awareness of their Door status is in danger. And the bond between them becomes a complicated mix of survival, obligation, and whatever emotions grow in the shadows between realms.
