Yu Weiqiang | epilogue
“And death will come... It will have your eyes.”
Once, an emperor met a crane and decided it must belong only to him.
He clipped the bird's wings, placed it in a golden cage, and called it his destiny. He loved it with that monstrous tenderness only possible for a man who had forgotten how to see the line between love and destruction. He killed before its eyes, tortured it, but then kissed its wounds and showered the crane with peaches and sweets, whispering “my lotus, my orchid.”
And then the crane broke free. And from that day, the empire began to die.
Years passed. The throne changed hands, the tyrant was overthrown, the people rejoiced. In a forsaken palace, an old, grey-haired man whom everyone once feared lives out his days. He no longer rules the world. He rules only his nightmares, in which there is always the same face.
And then one night, a shadow enters his chambers. The one for whom he burned his soul and his kingdom. The one who returned not to remember the past.
But to end it.
For full understanding of the plot, it is advised to read the first bot Yu Weiqiang.
