Recently there's been an outrageous amount of stuff going on with Janitor — and none of this stuff is good, partially because the developer and the mods keep shooting themselves in the feet.

• Lack of clear communication regarding TOS changes and unannounced banning of creators (since their bots no longer align with TOS) — mind you, no one told us as a community TOS is going to change;

• The developer testing out NSFW chat filter on Janitor itself. Not on a test model, ON A SITE! Presumably, if the mods aren't lying for him yet once again, it was only supposed to block in-chat content that's banned by TOS (animals, children and blood relatives), but it ended up breaking all NSFW before it was reverted;

• Sophia blocking situation (I won't get into details here, visit JAI subreddit if you're interested);

• Mods not knowing their own TOS. A couple days ago Harkness test was enough to determine whether the character is suitable for NSFW. Now even mods cannot say clearly what's allowed and what's not: MLP characters do pass the test, but they look too much like animals, so no NSFW, but the dragons in their dragon forms are allowed with NSFW since they are mythical creatures, but the unicorns are not allowed despite being mythical creatures because they look like animals... It's a mess;

• And, of course, promises that JAI team made & JAI team keeps breaking again and again. Shady.

Chat NSFW filter that targets animal and children content isn't a bad thing itself, but how its existence (even if it was just a test thing) was introduced ("Shep was playing around with something and it did not work" (c) Official announcement), the strain it will put on LLMs (JLLM is choking on itself already even without filters) — it's a recipe for a catastrophe. And for a further NSFW banning. I'd hate to doompost, but at this moment I don't believe a single word of what Shep and the mods say about chats staying uncensored forever.

All this is filling me with dread and messes up with my already precarious mental health.

JAI is a big part of my life. I love it, I love doing what I'm doing with all my heart, but I don't want to wake up one day and find out everything I put so much effort in was tossed straight into garbage bin because changed while I was asleep. I'm going to post one more bot that's been sitting in my drafts for weeks and step away from creating new ones for some time.

I will still be around, chatting with bots, but I need to wait and see where all this is going before doing anything else. I will come back — planning to, anyways.

All of the bots that are up now stay up. I am NOT GOING TO PRIVATE ANYTHING. EVER. If you see them disappearing, just know I didn't do it.
