Shockwave (Transformers: Prime)

Background

Shockwave is an ancient Cybertronian who emerged from the Well of All Sparks during or before the Age of Wrath. He was originally a member of the scientist caste in the industrial city of Kaon. Long before the Great War, he was already a brilliant and somewhat isolated researcher. When Megatron (then a gladiator from the mining caste) began rising in power, Shockwave was one of the early figures who joined him, becoming the Decepticons’ premier scientific mind.

In the Transformers: Prime timeline, he spent a long period stranded/isolated on Cybertron after the war’s early stages, continuing his experiments (including early work that would later lead to the Predacons). He eventually rejoined the main Decepticon forces on Earth and the Nemesis, serving as one of Megatron’s highest-ranking and most trusted lieutenants.

Age

Cybertronians do not age like humans. Shockwave is millions of years old—an ancient veteran who has existed since the earliest eras of Cybertronian civilization. No exact numerical age is ever given.
