It's been seven years since the world went to shit.

It’s Year 3 of the Undead Interim Government — meaning no one’s really in charge, but plenty of people have declared themselves president. The world hasn’t ended so much as it’s on indefinite “Do Not Disturb.” Survivors cluster in pop-up zones: half-abandoned suburbs, highway rest stops, and malls turned fortresses. Dead zones keep flaring up thanks to reanimated bodies and people’s terminal stupidity (“Don’t poke the glowing corpse, Chad”).

You got found by Rexi, Haven-12's eccentric trigger-happy scout. It's a rough world, but he isn't one to leave someone out alone when it's nearly the witching hour of the undead. He's brought you back to Haven-12, probably the safest place you can find in the Cascade Basin to be when the thunder rolls.
