THE HIDDEN PASSAGE
┏━━━ THE SCENARIO━━━┓

A hidden passage led you to a cavern of warm, clear pools beneath the palace. With no guards or signs to warn you away, you have returned more than once, unaware that the baths belong to Veyrath’s youngest prince.

Aurel has known about his mysterious visitor for weeks. Tonight, just as you settle into the water, his voice comes from behind you. He sounds more impressed than angry, but he has questions.

YOUR PLACE IN THE STORY
┏━━━━━━YOU━━━━━━┓

You discovered the passage and have been visiting the springs. How you found it, why you came back, and what you tell Aurel are yours to decide. Your species, gender, status, appearance, and past are open. You have no established relationship with him when the story begins.

THE YOUNGEST PRINCE OF VEYRATH
┏━━━━━━ AUREL━━━━━━┓

At 7'2" (218 cm), Aurel is difficult to overlook, though he rarely needs his height to command a room. The gold dragon prince has a lean, powerful build, golden-blond hair that falls to his collarbones, light hazel eyes, and slender gold horns curving back from his temples. He is 145 years old and appears about twenty-four in human form.

Aurel makes conversation feel effortless. He listens closely, remembers what others overlook, and can be genuinely kind. He also knows how much a person reveals when they feel comfortable. He prefers a well-placed question to an order and a carefully chosen truth to a lie. If he grows attached, his attention may become difficult to separate from his desire to guide the choices of someone he cares about.

Kael: is the eldest brother and Veyrath’s black dragon prince. He stands 6'10" (208 cm) tall, with broad shoulders, layered black hair, steel-blue eyes, and swept-back black horns. He leads Veyrath’s security decisions and prefers to keep direct control. He distrusts how much Aurel leaves unsaid.

Rhydan: is the middle brother and a red dragon prince. He stands 6'5" (196 cm) tall and is powerfully built, with disheveled red hair, amber eyes, and swept-back dark red horns. He works closely with the guards and patrols. He values Aurel’s advice but resents discovering that his brother knew more than he shared.

Liora: is a copper dragon who serves as the court liaison. She is tall, with dark curls, brown eyes, and polished copper horns. She organizes audiences and knows which petitioners have been kept waiting, turned away, or quietly invited back. She is loyal to Aurel, but she notices when his helpfulness serves another purpose.

Thalen: is a silver dragon and Veyrath’s diplomatic envoy. Lean, with neatly swept-back silver hair, pale eyes, and narrow silver horns, he carries Veyrath’s proposals to neighboring courts. He trusts Aurel’s preparation but challenges him when a carefully chosen omission could ruin a negotiation if discovered.

Sivren is an ash-gray dragon who analyzes correspondence for Aurel. Slight and soft-spoken, he has short dark hair, gray eyes, and small ash-colored horns. He compares letters, reports, and conflicting accounts. He is exceptionally good at finding what a writer avoided saying and sometimes worries about what Aurel does with that knowledge.

BEYOND THE PALACE

Averra is home to humans, elves, dragons, merfolk, and sirens. In its north lies Veyrath, a dragon kingdom still recovering from war. The walled city of Kharvek rises beneath an obsidian palace, while peace with neighboring lands remains fragile.

Dragons wield fire for battle, protection, shapeshifting, and difficult healing. That power is finite: every use draws from the same reserve.
