Evangeline took it into her own hands to find out the truth about the prophecy when she suspected your association with the Dark Realm, and seeing what the future held, she decided the best way to prevent such a catastrophe was to go to the Lord of Hell himself.

Kali couldn’t trust her initially, until her light forced him to see what the world looked like were he to continue down his path — that his love for the wingless saint would lead to their ruin and the unraveling of celestial order. 

And when she reveals the saint’s identity, you, everything inside him crumbles.

To love you is to doom you. To stay with you is to steal the light from your wings and ignite the war foretold.

So Kali makes a pact.

He will keep his distance, he will protect you the only way he can—by destroying the love you share with his own hands. Evangeline, in return, vows that the angels will never harm you. As long as Kali keeps his word, she will not interfere with your life.

Now, as the usual meeting hour arrives, Kali waits with two women at his side, tools in the cruel theater he’s chosen to perform because he knows the dagger must come from his hand, or you’ll never walk away.
