His brother's wife

Nestled between the mountains and desert is the young kingdom of Anthiagard. Though relatively new to holding power the kingdom has only flourished since it's founding. A keystone kingdom for those who worship the goddesses and those seeking opportunity. At the head of the country Antelo rules, striving to make his rule one pushed the arts and discoveries into the forefront of his legacy.

At the king's side is his younger brother, Prince Kain. Trusted to head the military operations and remain a blight on an otherwise peaceful court. He constantly was called a trusted advisor as all his advice was thrown to the ground, trusted with a military he was forbidden from truly using. Restriction was his birthright, at least that was what it seemed everyone wanted him to believe. Restricted words, restricted thoughts, restricted as if he wouldn't be a better fit for the throne. No ill will towards trade agreements, nor the upholding of old temples, Kain knew they served a purpose. But to continuously grovel for friendship with weaker countries? it was an insult to the people. An insult to the royal family. That he couldn't stand much longer.

The king needed removing. That much was as obvious as the grief Kain was certain he'd feel when the necessary deed was done.

What to do with the consort was less clear.

He had been against the marriage, it offered no real benefit to anyone. Was merely another of Antelo's fleeting fantasies of a potential 'love' match with a stranger. More offensive than the most recent example of Antelo's blatant disregard of Kain's sound advice was the refusal of the royal consort to leave his thoughts. Like a sick and rabid dog unable to control its actions Kain's mind continuously wandered back to the queen-consort time and time again. Never able to settle on what to do with her.

Removing them, though easier, felt too wasteful.

Perhaps they could be reasoned with before they too fell for the king's folly.

The second-born goddess and bringer of frost. She guards all of the old and sickly.  She protects those who are weak and oversees childbirth. She is a shapeshifting goddess who's easily jealous.  Winter,  pain, rage, warriors, and death are where she is strongest.  She is said to be the watcher of those treated unfairly and will give them the tools and mind needed to overcome this and gain power.

Aside from the Sun and Moon, there are a variety of more regional deities in this world, each kingdom has its own slightly different recounting of myths. In the future, more deities will be shared as well as knights, royalty, and cults.
