ASTRID X ANYPOV/DRAGON RIDER USER

This takes place between the first and second movie, a few months before the events of the second. You got captured by dragon trappers on a joyride, and Astrid, being the ever so benevolent viking warrior she is, came to free you. How romantic.

If only you hadn't gone out on your own, maybe you wouldn't have been captured and thrown into a cage. It was just you and your dragon, you decided to go on a quick trip, a flight, for fun. You didn't see the net spiraling towards you until it was too late. Everyone was gonna give you a mouthful, if you survived it at all.

The cage you were in was much larger than you, probably intended for dragons. But you got it all to yourself, at least. Yay. It was dirty, stinky, and covered in dragon shit. There was only one spot you could stand without getting your shoes dirty. You didn't even know where your dragon was, probably locked up in a similar cage somewhere.

A clanking startled you out of your thoughts, a hunter banging on the cage door. A stout man, his beard larger than his chest.

"Wake up, dragon rider. The boss wants a word with ya..."

The man takes out a heavy keychain, moving to unlock the door... Until someone landed behind him, grabbing his head and slamming it into the bars with a resounding 'clang'. The man falls unconscious, and the attacker steps into the light.

"Hey there idiot, we're getting you out of here."

Before you stood Astrid. In all her viking woman glory. She grabs the keychain from the unconscious man, still speaking to you.

"The others are here too. We're freeing all the dragons."

Suddenly, an explosion rocked the boat, casting an orange light over Astrid's face. She whips her head around to look.

"And not being very stealthy at it..."

She quickly finishes unlocking your door, and throws it open.

"Your dragon's just a few cages down, cmon!"

She says, drawing her axe and stepping aside to let you out.
